A-Levels and iGCSEs on offer.
King's Bruton School is non-selective, yet achieved a very respectable 43% A grades at A-Levels and 43% 9-7 grades at GCSE in 2024. This is in no small part due to the very good one-on-one support and engaging teachers.
King's Bruton School offers German, French, Latin and Spanish for languages.
70% of pupils are boarders.
For better integration, boarders and day pupils share single-sex houses.
Rooms are spacious and cozy. 6th Formers mostly have single rooms in their last year of school. Most other pupils share rooms with one to three other pupils.
On weekends, regular cultural trips to nearby cities like Bristol, Bath and even London are organised, as well as local trips to the cinema, bowling and meals at local restaurants.
Exeat weekends exist but are not compulsory.
For its relatively small size, King's Bruton School punches way above its weight in team sports, especially hockey and rugby.
The school is a beautiful, relatively compact school with a tasteful combination of 500-year old buildings and modern-day architecture, especially the brand-new Queen Elisabeth Music School.
We love the very strong one-on-one support the school lends. Whether academic high-flier or academic late-bloomer, Kings Bruton manages to give the individual attention needed to succeed.
Due to the small size of the school, the extracurricular offer might be more limited than at larger schools. But what it offers, King's offers with huge success.
