The school offers IGCSEs, A-Levels and the IB
Haileybury School is academically ambitious and it shows: in 2023, its IGCSE results yielded 77% 9-7 grades, its A-Levels 43% A-grades and an IB average of 38.9 points. Very encouraging, but ambitious headmaster Martin Collier says there's room for more!
Language-wise the school offers German, French, Spanish, Latin and Greek.
At Haileybury School 65% of pupils board full-time. But the boarding ethos goes further: day pupils tend to stay at school most days until the evening, sometimes until 9.30pm and are very well integrated.
The school has 12 boarding houses with each housing 50-70 pupils. The houses are all well maintained and close to school. Pupils share with at least one other until Y13 when most move into single rooms.
90% of staff live on site, which gives pupils access to dedication, care and support beyond school hours.
Exeat weekends exist at Haileybury College and are compulsory.
Haileybury School is a phenominally beautiful school with an impeccably kept campus and state-of-the-art sports- and creative facilities. It is what we at von Bülow Education call a 'WOW-school'!
The school's co-curricular offer is astounding. From computer-programming via the Business Challenge to wildlife conservation, there is a multitude of exciting things to do after class - truly something for everyone!
Haileybury School has a deserved reputation for outstanding sports. Special mentions go to football (both boys and girls!), hockey, tennis, netball and lacrosse. Again, huge breadth also here with archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, canoeing, fencing, golf, horse-riding, kickboxing and water polo to mention a few.
Another big forte is of course the music. Haileybury School has a long tradition of amazing choral music. It even won the much coveted BBC Songs of Praise Choir of the Year award in 2015. Other musical opportunities abound with rock- and jazz bands, ensembles, string quartets and dedicated staff for individual lessons from jazz drums to bassoon.
We also like Haileybury School's dance provision with dance lessons on offering jazz, ballet, street and tap, and a very popular annual dance show.
Is there too much going on? Some parents seem to think their children are almost too stretched with competing demands from different school departments, sports teams and extracurricular commitments.
