Dover College is non-selective but achieves decent academic results nevertheless. In 2023, its GCSE results yielded 35% 9-7 grades and its A-Levels 31% A-grades.
The school has introduced its own curriculum in September 2019, where pupils get the opportunity to explore themes on a cross-subject basis. We like!
French, Spanish and Mandarin on offer. Curiously, no German! The SEN provision is reputed to be very good here.
45% of pupils board. Cozy boarding houses, albeit in need of an upgrade! Pupils share with two others until Y11, then share with one. U6th-formers get single rooms.
The school has no exeat weekends.
Dover College is a small, very friendly school that integrates pupils and makes them feel at home almost instantly.
The school offers great art, with fine art, photography and textiles the stand-outs.
Sports is - in keeping with the overall spirit of the school - inclusive. Everyone is encouraged to participate and to join in with team sports. The offer is broad - from equestrian and sailing to tennis and hockey, the school has something for everyone
The boarding community is rather small. The school goes out of its way to compensate this by doing a great job at integrating the boarders.
Boarding accomodation could do with a good touch-up. The school has promised to put money to this in 2019.
