Box Hill School is a Round Square School, and thus encourages compassion in pupils and a 'just go for it'-attitude to exploring their potential. And it does so extremely well: with a wealth of extracurricular activities on offer, good arts, music and sports options, this is a place where anyone can 'have a go' to their hearts' content. Box Hill School is relatively non-selective, yet achieved a good 21% As at A-Levels, 26% 9-7 grades at GCSEs and a 32 points average (two points over world average) in the IB in 2024.
Box Hill School is famous for great learning support. Over 150 pupils receive support for dyslexia and dispraxia, while the school's gifted pupils receive help too. The school's individualised approach helps everyone grow at their own pace.
Languages Taught
German, French, Spanish and English as a Foreign Language.
The Boarding
40% of pupils board. About 30% of pupils at the school are international, which given that the school is a Round Square school and offers the IB is not surprising.
Six homely boarding houses, two on campus, four within a 2-minute walk from campus.

The Strengths
Box Hill School is academically inclusive and adaptable, and achieves amazing results for both weak and strong pupils. Its dedicated, individual support is key here.
The Round Square philosophy makes Box Hill School a school full of activities and purpose - from adventurous self-discovery while rock climbing in Wales to experiencing democray first-hand through the school's Model United Nations initiative, pupils push the envelope and have fun.
The Weaknesses
The school's boarding facilities are in need of a touch up. The school recently told us that this was being prioritized.
