The Academics

The school has an excellent SEN department, offering outstanding support for pupils with dyslexia and dyscalculia.

The Boarding

Around 17% of pupils are boarders, all housed in one very cosy boarding house under the care of the inspiring Head of Boarding, Bert Robinson.

Weekends are easy to fill, with Belfast close by for cultural outings, shopping or a trip to the cinema.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths

Campbell is a boys’ school – and here the boys are free to be just that: full of energy, passionate about sport and taught in ways that play to their strengths and interests.

The sports department is strong and wide-ranging. Alongside popular favourites such as rugby and football, pupils can take part in hockey, tennis, swimming, judo, cross-country, athletics and more. Competitions are held at district, Ulster and even national level.

Weaknesses

There could certainly be more boarders – but those who are here are very well integrated.

Location

Campbell College sits on Belmont Road in East Belfast, set within a 100-acre woodland campus complete with its own lake. The school isn’t right in the city centre, but close enough to enjoy the best of both worlds: Belfast’s culture, shops and lively city life are all within easy reach.
