Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths
The facilities at Brighton College are top-tier, which explains why sport plays such an important role – not only for talented athletes with big ambitions, but for anyone who enjoys being active. Training conditions are excellent, and many of the coaches bring personal experience from national or even international competition. The school excels in rugby, netball, cricket and athletics, and also offers hockey, tennis, swimming and sailing with great enthusiasm.
Those more drawn to the stage will find excellent opportunities in dance and drama. The rehearsal spaces and performance venues are modern and inspiring, and the value placed on creative expression is clearly felt throughout the school.
Weaknesses
Many boarders head home to their families in London over the weekend, which means the campus quiets down considerably.
Brighton College
Brighton College is located in the vibrant coastal city of Brighton, known for its eclectic charm and slightly shabby, bohemian character.
This is an incredible school for high-achieving pupils who still want to make time for life beyond the library. In our view, Brighton College is the most architecturally stunning school we’ve seen so far. But this is a place for those who are truly ready for the challenge.
A fascinating, beautiful school. But if you visit, make sure to focus more on the people than on the buildings.
