Monkton Combe School is a moderately selective school. Considering, the school's results are continuously impressive. In 2023, pupils achieved 51% 9-7 grades at GCSEs and 31% A-grades at A-Level. That is amazing!

Languages offered are German, Spanish, French and Latin.

Boarding:

60% of pupils are boarders.

The school has seven boarding houses, all of which have their individual personality. Monkton's houseparents are well known to be especially warm, caring and committed to amazing pastoral care.

Exeat weekends are compulsory.

Strengths:

One key strength is Monkton Combe School's happy, caring, down-to-earth atmosphere. This is a school that all our pupils feel home in from Day One. Reasons for this are the amazing pastoral care, very caring houseparents and enthusiastic, unpretentious teachers. Moreover, Monkton Combe School was an early adopter of an innovative pastoral programme known as AS Tracking which tracks pupils' social psychology and wellbeing, which is further evidence for the school's commitment to ensuring its pupils' happiness

Monkton Combe School has great sports and is known especially for its great rowing. Next to the traditional English school sports, Monkton Combe School offers badminton, basketball, football, fencing, golf, judo and volleyball

Art, design and music are all outstanding here. A new 15m+ Maths and Science Center, Music-, Art- and DT-Center has officially put Monkton Combe School on the creative map. The new spaces are stunning, one of the best art studios we know, a gorgeous new music hall and state-of-the-art design space. Monkton Combe School has a stong affinity to jazz and the school co-hosts the amazing Longmead jazz festival.

Weakness:

Not quite as visually impessive as some of the other schools in the area. Yet, what it lacks in looks, Monkton Combe School more than makes up for in friendliness!
