Kent College is a bit of a phenomenon. The school is non-selective and achieves some rather phenomenal exam results for this: in 2024, pupils achieved 41% 9-7 grades at GCSE, 38% A-grades at A-Levels and a stunning 36 points (out of 45, 30 being world average) average in the IB. The secret: good, passionate, dedicated teaching!
Kent College has German, French and Spanish on offer.
Six dedicated EAL teachers to help the considerable international pupil community with their English learning.
40% of pupils are boarders, some of which do flexi-boarding. Thanks to the tight-knit boarding community at Kent College, day pupils and boarding pupils are close and well integrated.
The six boarding houses are in good repair, practical and, most importantly, very close to school proper. Pupils share with one or two others. Sometimes single rooms are available in Y13.
Exeat weekends exist but are not compulsory.
Undoutedly the academic prowess. We don't know a school in the UK that can add value as much with its broad intake as Kent College can. Dedicated, caring teachers who really take the time to explain the currciculum, in combination with Kent College's friendly school community is the magic formula.
The caring school community is another. Based on the methodist faith, Kent College has strong values around kindness and team-spirit that pupils imbibe and live. Moreover, the school has its own farm and regular interactions with the animals calms the pupils' nerves and grounds them. Our pupils arrive and feel at home from day one!
Kent College has a great sports offer. Hockey, tennis, athletics and equestrian are the most notable mentions here. Much more, from fitness to football on offer besides.
We'd prefer a slightly larger, fuller boarding community. 40% boarders is good, but Kent College promised to improve on this next year! Luckily the integration with day pupils works very well.
