GCSEs and A-levels are offered as school diplomas.
34 percent of A levels were A grades. At GCSE 33 percent were at 9-7 grades. On average, Sutton Valence graduates achieve half a grade above the results they were predicted based on previous achievements.
Around 30 percent of the students board full-time or during the week in three houses. Of the boarding school students, about 20 percent come from abroad. The boys have access to the houses of St. Margret's and Westminster. The girls live in Sutton. In every house there are house fathers and house mothers as well as tutors for all the students’ needs. From the age of 13, the rooms are occupied by two students. Students over the age of 16 have their own rooms. Depending on the occupancy situation, some will already have a room to themselves at 15.
The boarding school students have spacious common areas, kitchens and access to the sports facilities and the swimming pool at all times. On weekends, many trips to the cinema, theatre or to go shopping are offered.
Exeat weekends at Sutton Valence are not compulsory.
Despite its traditional approach, Sutton Valence is a modern and down-to-earth school. Even its proximity to London hasn't changed anything about its friendly and wonderfully normal atmosphere, which can't be said about every school in the area. At Sutton Valence, every student is seen as an individual and supported accordingly.
The school is particularly strong in the areas of choral singing, design and technology as well as in sports – especially athletics, rugby, cricket and hockey.
None that we can think of.
