St Edmund's School is fairly non-selective, yet achieved a respectable 29% A grades at A-Levels and 37% 9-7 grades at GCSEs in 2024.
The school has very good SEN provision, especially for dyslexic children.
For languages St Edmund's School has German, French, Spanish and Latin on offer
45% of pupils board.
Boarding houses are functional and in good condition, if a little cramped. Pupils share with at least one other person up to 6th Form. Then the single rooms beckon.
Exeat weekends exist but pupils can stay at the school.
St Edmund's School has a real forte in music. The school educates choristers of the famous Canterbury Cathedral Choir after all. The school has its own music school complete with performance space and a state-of-the-art recording studio.
Another key strength is the school's drama provision. St Edmund's School has its own theatre where it performs at least five major productions a year, as well as several house plays, musical and improv pieces. Impressive!
The school's boarding accommodation felt a little cramped the last time we visited.
