A-Levels and GCSEs on offer.
New Hall is moderately selective. The school achieved a respectable 52% A-grades at A-Levels and 53% 9-7 Grades at GCSEs in 2024.
A unique feature of New Hall's educational offer is the Diamond Model, where boys and girls school together in prep school and sixth form, but receive separate education in Y9-Y11. Extracurricular activities are enjoyed together though. The benefits of this model are that boys and girls receive teaching adapted to their needs during these very formative years, without having to opt for a single-sex school.
Languages on offer are German, Spanish, French, Latin and Greek.
26% of pupils are boarders.
The school has six modern, well-equipped boarding houses in which most boarders have single rooms.
Exeat weekends exist and are compulsory.
We like the Diamond Model! The school attributes a big part of its academic success to it.
New Hall School is a very sporty school with the breadth and depth of sports to compete with the best. The traditional sports rugby, cricket and hockey are strong, but others like golf, equestrian, swimming, and tennis are just as good and competitive.
The arts are another New Hall School forte - fine art, drama, dance, music are all very decent here! The Walkfares Performing Arts Centre offers drama and dance studios and the refurbished 150 seat Eaton Theatre hosts 2 full-scale drama productions a year. A range of choirs, orchestras and ensembles provide opportunities for musicians to perform, pop and jazz bands are encouraged, and the Dance School runs classes at lunchtimes and after school.
We would prefer a few more boarders!
