When we last visited, the boarding facilities were a little on the disappointing side. The school promised us to renovate during the summer holidays.
Lucton School does not have exeat week-ends. There are also no lessons on Saturdays. Week-end activities include excursions on nearby Birmingham, London and Manchester. Pupils also use the facilities at school including the swimming pool and, of course, the horses!
No doubt, Lucton School's biggest pull is the excellent equestrian provision. Emma Coates, the experienced Head of Equestrian at the school coaches pupils with real commitment and passion. Pupils can bring their own horses!
The swimming team is very strong here. Otherwise, Lucton School's sports is all about participation and everyone gets the chance to get involved in most sports activities.
We love Lucton School for its friendly, inclusive and supportive boarding and learning environment. The fact that this is a small school, where pupils will know everyone within days helps!
The boarding facilities could do with an upgrade. The school promised us that this will happen during the summer holidays.
