The 'Dauntseians', as pupils here are commonly known as, produce decent academic results year in year our. In 2024 42% of A-Level grades were As and 64% of GCSE grades were 9-7s.
The school is well known for its very good SEN provision, especially for dyslexia.
Pupils up to 8th grade live in „The Manor“, a viktorian-era mansion house, which has a cosy feel. Girls from Y9 onwards life in the houses „Evans“ and „Jeanne“, initially in double rooms and later in U6th in singles. The same applies for the older boys in houses „Fitzmaurice“ and „Mercers“ leben.
We have found boarding accomodation at Dauntsey's in good repair and cosy.
The school has four compulsory exeat week-ends.
Dauntsey's has a fantastic theatre offer with several major termly productions, most recently „Les Miserables“, „Billy Elliot“, „Mamma Mia“ and „Jesus Christ Superstar“ - all to critical acclaim. Music is strong also with over 500 single lessons a week and 70 concerts performed a year. Music spans anything from orchestral via jazz to pop and rock.
The school has a refreshingly grounded, warmhearted atmosphere and ethos. Pupils are encouraged to take calculated risks and to really try things out in a safe environment. The school has 29 so-called 'adventures' that it sends pupils on to explore, stretch beyond the comfort zone and gain in self-confidence.
Last but not least, the school has its own Tall Ship, the Jolie Brise, which pupils sail on extensively all year around. This is a fairly unique activity.
