Culford is not a very selective school, yet achieves very decent academic results. In 2024, its GCSE results yielded 48% 9-7 grades and its A-Levels 42% A-grades.
Spanish, French and Latin are on offer.
54% of pupils board.
The school has four boarding houses, two for each sex. The boarding houses are cozy, yet we thought they needed a bit of a touch-up. Pupils share with one or two others.
Exeat weekends exist but are not compulsory.
Sports, obviously! Culford is one of the top sports schools in the UK, which is mainly due to its excellent tennis. Academies for golf, football, dance and swimming augment this status, but other sports, such as hockey, equestrian, and athletics are on offer also.
The combination of small size and methodist roots make Culford a school with a supportive, friendly and intimate atmosphere.
The school's new arts department is amazing and adds a more creative nous to the strong sporty feel of the school.
The boarding facilities were in need of an upgrade when we last visited. The school is supposedly upgrading the four houses as we write this.
