St Edward's School
Oxford
St Edward’s School is located in the green north of Oxford—far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to fully enjoy the university atmosphere of the city. It offers everything you’d want from a top boarding school: academically strong (with both IB and A-Levels), athletically ambitious, creatively diverse—and refreshingly down-to-earth. The facilities are first-class, the extracurricular program impressively broad, and thanks to its Oxford location, students naturally benefit from the intellectual environment of one of the world’s most famous university cities. No wonder St Edward’s is a popular choice among our students.
The Details
The Academics
St Edward’s School Oxford is becoming increasingly ambitious academically – as reflected in its very solid 2024 exam results: 46% A grades at A-Level, 60% grades 9–7 at GCSE, and an IB average score of 32 points. Despite this, the school remains true to its friendly, inclusive culture – exactly what many families appreciate: high standards without overwhelming pressure, achievement with heart. The school offers GCSEs, A-Levels, and the IB.
Languages Taught
German, English as a Foreign Language, French, Ancient Greek, Latin and Spanish.
The Boarding
Around 85% of pupils board at the school. The 13 boarding houses – five for girls and eight for boys – are spread across the spacious campus. The accommodations are modern, comfortable, and well maintained. In the lower years, pupils typically share rooms with one or two others, while in the upper years they have single rooms – providing a good balance of community and privacy.
