GCSEs, A-Levels and BTEC National Diplomas in Economics (equivalent to two A-levels) are offered as well as a A-level preparatory year for international students, the so-called Development Year.
Although Wycliffe College is not selective, its exam results are good: in the school year 2024, 21 percent of the students graduated with A* to A at A-level. At GCSE, about 28 percent achieved grades of 9 to 7.
Wycliffe College is an inclusive school and has been certified as a CReSTeD (Learning Support Center) for twelve years. Very experienced, specialised teachers provide remedial teaching and learning aids for students with learning disabilities and impairments such as dyslexia, autism, dyspraxia, ADHD and dyscalculia
There are eight boarding houses for day students, students who live here only during the week, and full-time boarding students from many different countries and cultures. Wycliffe is proud to educate its students to be open and self-confident citizens of the world.
While the lower years share rooms, the upper school students usually have double or single rooms to themselves. With the exception of Loosley Halls, which is a boarding house exclusively for around 60 boys and girls of the Sixth Form, all the other houses are separated by gender and mixed between day students, students of the cadet academy and boarding students. All the houses have large common rooms, flat-screen TVs, as well as a kitchen and laundry room. Most of the rooms have a private bathroom and some offer an excellent view of the incomparable landscape.
On the weekends there are numerous events for the boarding school students, which include barbecue and quiz nights as well as trips into nature and much more.
The exeat weekends are not mandatory and the stay is included in the boarding school fees.
Our pupils love the school's Development Year Programme just before taking A-Levels. Pupils choose five subjects that can even include more unusual subjects like photography and film studies. Classes are very small, sometimes only 3-5 pupils in total.
Sports is another clear strength. The facilities here are excellent with modern sports-halls,gym, astro-turfs and a boat house for the rowers. Next to the traditional sports hockey (girls only!), football, tennis and cricket, the school offers fencing, badminton, squash, martial arts, shooting, equestrian and many more. Special strengths are rowing and hockey for the girls and squash for the boys.
We love the school's inclusive boarding culture and friendly atmosphere. A combination of British and internationl pupils makes this an open-minded, tolerant school.
Last but not least, the location - stunning, rural Cotswolds but only two hours by direct train to London. Perfect!
None that we know of.
