Stonyhurst Summer School

Stonyhurst School is visually hugely impressive - a classic 'Harry-Potter' school. Founded in 1593, this oldest Jesuit school in the world sports a stunning campus amid the rolling hills of Lancashire. The school motto ‘Quant Je Puis – as much as I can’ is the overarching principle and sits at the heart of everything.
Stonyhurst Summer School has unrestricted access to all the playing fields and sports facilities (including the swimming pool and new indoor tennis dome) enjoyed by Stonyhurst College, with trained and qualified coaches and experts for a wide range of activities.
The English Language teaching courses are offered for two, three and four-week stays to children aged 10-16 years. With five teaching levels, from elementary to advanced, every student is assessed at the start of each course, assigned to a small class of no more than 12 students with similar levels in English while their progress is continuously monitored.
All students receive 20 hours of English tuition per week overseen by the Director of Studies who is available to provide additional support to students. Each day of lessons will be designed around a different topic, such as sport, the environment, Stonyhurst history, politics and British culture.
At the end of the course, each student receives a report and a certificate at an awards ceremony. The awards ceremony does not only reward academic achievements, but also sporting success.
The English course can be paired with a Tennis, Rugby or Adventure course.
With high-performance facilities, including state-of-the-art Tennis Dome and 7 outdoor courts, Stonyhurst offers the perfect location for a residential and day Tennis Academy. The dome is 10 metres high and offers two Grand Slam sized tennis courts, with high-performing acoustics and glare-free playing conditions. The facilities, combined with the top-quality training schedules offered at Stonyhurst, will nurture the next generation of players.
